The narrative need
EP Stories was born out of a storytelling necessity: placing the story before the format, the market, and the label.
A passion for reading led to writing as something almost inevitable. Not just a project, but a necessity. At times, even a form of therapy: a way of passing through stories before giving them a voice.
EP Stories publishes speculative fiction shaped by dense, living characters. Characters readers can recognize themselves in, even when they exist far from our time or space. Stories that avoid emotional shortcuts, choosing instead paths of growth and evolution.
Instead of defining EP Stories upfront, we chose to begin with what we do not want to be. The work advances through subtraction. We strip away what does not belong to us. For instance, emotional standardization: we are not interested in reproducing ready-made emotions, nor in writing stories that succeed simply because they reassure.
The literary landscape is vast, yet the area that draws us most, in Italy and in the Italian language, remains largely unexplored. Speculative fiction, and science fiction in particular, occupies far less space than its potential allows. This is where an important part of our research begins.
The first published title is Dream Loop – The Awakening, a science fiction novel set in space and shaped around deeply human questions. A link below allows you to read the first two chapters for free.
